Hearing Loss
Hearing loss can occur from disorders of the outer, middle, and/or inner ear, as well as the auditory nerve.
Symptoms of hearing loss include difficulty hearing or understanding conversation, especially in the presence of background noise. Tinnitus, often described as a ringing or buzzing sound, is often a symptom of hearing loss.
Treatment for hearing loss depends on the origin of the problem. A testing battery tailored to your symptoms will be determined at your initial consultation.
Patients requiring audiometric testing will be scheduled with our in-office audiologist and will follow-up with one of our medical providers after the exam to discuss results and recommendations.
Diagnostic Services include the following:
- Tympanometry
- Acoustic reflexes and decay
- Otoacoustic emissions
- Audiometry (air and bone conduction)
- Speech discrimination testing
- Speech-in-noise testing
